Otherwise known as Emma, is an Japanese-Okinawan illustrator raised on the island of Oahu. She studied at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design with a focus on narrative art and design. In 2024 she won the SCBWI Ezra Jack Keats Showcase Prize.
Being well versed in a variety of mediums, her main outlets of art are through watercolor, gouache, acrylic and digital tools. She is deeply passionate about storytelling, character design and creating educational illustrations to spread knowledge about animals and culture.
Some of her favorite things to draw are dragons, frogs, whales and fish.
